Nami’s weather-predicting skills are not only practical for her crew’s journey, since they also have a very effective use in battle. Like all of her crewmates, she specializes in a unique fighting style, and hers is calledArt of Weather, which combines her meteorology knowledge withherClima-Tact, a special weapon Usopp made specifically for her.
Thanks to this combination, Nami is able to manipulate the weather in order to create all sorts of amazing and powerful attacks out of nowhere, without the need for Devil Fruit powers or Haki. She can summon potent lightning, generate strong gusts of wind, create mirages that can confuse her opponents, change the temperature of her surroundings, and a lot more. So far, Nami is the only character in the series who has mastered the Art of Weather, and while she’s not as strong as other members of her crew, it has been really useful for her, to the point that it’s the reason she was able to steal Big Mom’s cloud homie, Zeus.

Monkey D. Luffy is a great pirate captain, and all the Straw Hat Pirates are extremely loyal to him, but he can also be quite immature and impulsive, sometimes needing someone else to keep him in check in order to prevent accidents. While Zoro and Sanji are in charge of this monumental task from time to time, Nami is the person who can be seen reprimanding him more often than anybody else in the crew, and she is also the one who has succeeded the most.

Not only has she scolded him on multiple occasions - like when he spent all their savings in the Post-Enies Lobby Arc or when he decided to throw the Thousand Sunny over a giant waterfall after the Wano Country Arc –, but she’s also one of the few members of the crew who actually physically punishes Luffy whenever she feels it to be necessary. Curiously enough, Eiichiro Oda has confirmed that the only reason her punches can hurt him despite having a rubber body is because they actually target “Luffy’s spirit.”

Nami is obviously a woman of many talents, seeing as she has vast knowledge of many different areas. Not only can she predict the weather and effectively decide the crew’s next route, but she is also anexpert cartographerwho can draw surprisingly accurate maps. After all, her biggest dream is to make a complete map of the entire world, which she hopes to achieve while traveling with the Straw Hat Pirates.
Nami has dedicated her entire life to drawing great maps, to the point that this skill is the main reasonArlong captured her and forcibly made her join his crew, so she could draw accurate maps for them. Of course, the Straw Hats saved her when they took Arlong down, and she’s now able to put her incredible cartography skills to whatever use she wants. It’s a good thing that, despite her tragic childhood, Nami never lost her passion for drawing and making maps.
2Flaunting Her Excellent Fashion Sense
She’s The Only Straw Hat Who Seems To Care About Buying And Wearing Different Outfits
Aside from being an expert navigator, meteorologist, and cartographer, Nami is a very fashionable woman who enjoys changing her clothes very often. It seems like author Eiichiro Oda really enjoys designing different attire for her, becauseshe arguably has the most outfits in the entireOne Pieceseries, to the point that she sometimes changes her clothes twice or thrice in the same story arc.
While some of the other Straw Hats, like Sanji or Robin, also seem to care a little bit about what they are wearing, neither of them can even compare to Nami, who can be seen buying and trying out new outfits on multiple occasions. Most fans even believe that she’s responsible for buying new clothes for the more immature members of the crew, like Luffy, Zoro, or Chopper, which would explain why they have sucha large variety of outfits in their wardrobes, despite never seemingly caring about fashion as much as their navigator.

Since Nami was raised in a poor household and was later forced to gather money to save her village from the Arlong Pirates, she’s quite fond of money, and she can even be considered a very greedy person. However, this is not necessarily a negative trait, because it has resulted in her being the person responsible forhandling thefinancesof the Straw Hat Pirates.
Every time the crew obtains money or some other type of treasure during an arc, Nami is in charge of saving it, counting it, and deciding how and when they’re going to use it next, and she mainly prioritizes important resources for their journey, like food, clothing, or ship reparations. Because of this, she always gets furious at her crewmates (mainly Luffy) whenever they decide to use their money for trivial stuff without her permission, like when they spend it on unnecessarily large amounts of food and drinks for a party.
