Rockstar’s firstGTA 6trailer was released near the very end of 2023 and took the internet by storm. Fittingly set to Florida-born 80s rock singer Tom Petty’s “Love is a Long Road,“GTA 6’s Trailer 1 helped boost the song’s Spotify streams by over 36,000% in the days and weeks following the trailer’s debut. The song has largely become the anthem ofGrand Theft Auto 6since Trailer 1, but with more trailers to come and an entire selection of in-game radio stations at players' disposal, there will be a myriad of tracks players will begin to associate withGTA 6and Vice City.

Just days after Rockstar announcedGTA6’s delay to May 2026, the studio suddenly dropped Trailer 2 to help quell fans' disappointment. The first minute of the trailer isn’t set to music, aside from a short car radio appearance from Wang Chung’s “Everybody Have Fun Tonight,” as fans follow Jason as he rides through Vice City, fixes a leaky roof, and buys a six-pack of beer. He then meets up with Lucia, who’s just been released from prison, and it’s at this moment where The Pointer Sisters' “Hot Together” kicks in for the rest of the trailer, only briefly interrupted by an AmmuNation commercial Jason catches on TV for a few seconds.

GTA 6 Trailer 2 Features ‘Hot Together’ by The Pointer Sisters

“Hot Together” is the title track of The Pointer Sisters' 1986 album of the same name, and not only fits right into the80s nostalgia of Vice City, but also reflectsGrand Theft Auto6’s protagonists and their relationship. Much of Trailer 2 focuses on Jason and Lucia, showing brief moments of the two bonding, partying, being intimate together, and generally supporting each other on their crime-fueled adventures through Vice City. Considering their relationship is primed to be at the heart ofGTA 6’s narrative, “Hot Together” couldn’t be a more fitting selection for one of the game’s trailers.

With well over a year between bothGTA 6trailers, it’ll surely be several months before players can expectRockstar to offer another glimpse at the game. It’s typical for Rockstar’s games to be preceded by a longer-form voiced overview trailer a few months before release, and that might be the next piece Rockstar puts out forGTA 6,either near the very end of this year or early in 2026. In the meantime, The Pointer Sisters' “Hot Together” may see a Tom Petty-like Spotify boost in the coming days as more and more people flock to watch Trailer 2.
