Summary
Netflix’sWednesdayseason 2 is continuing the show’s formula ofusing “woe” in every episode title, and it’s the right choice for the dark and creepy series. Although Addams Family fans didn’t think that season 1 was perfect, the show was a massive hit, which led to its second season renewal. In the first season, Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) is Nevermore Academy’s newest student, and shestays true to her cynical, grim, and confident personality while investigating several strange mysteries.
While it’s been a long wait for season 2,the teaser trailer looks great, andWednesdayseason 2 will be released in two parts on August 6th, 2025 and September 3rd, 2025.Based on the episode titles, it looks like one big moment from the end of season 1 is going to be resolved in a particularly entertaining manner.
Wednesday Season 2’s Episode Titles Could Solve The Season 1 Cliffhanger
Two ofWednesdayseason 2’s episode titles, “Hide and Woe Seek” and “The Devil You Woe,“might solve the cliffhanger set up at the end of the first season. These titles could suggest that someone is hiding from Wednesday Addams and that she’s dealing with a character who she knows well. It’s possible these titles are referring tothe stalker, who texts Wednesday at the end of season 1when she’s being driven away from Nevermore Academy.
There areseveral fan theories about the stalker, including that a shapeshifter or someone with paranormal powers is spying on Wednesday. It’s alsopossible the stalker is a member of the Addams Family or one of Wednesday’s peers at Nevermore. Maybe, in “Hide and Woe Seek,” Wednesday confronts the stalker via text message, lies that she knows who they are, and spends an entire episode trying to catch them. Then, in “The Devil You Woe,” Wednesday gets closer to the truth and learns that someone in her world is more suspicious and less trustworthy than she thought. Maybe one of her family members, like Pugsley (Isaac Ordenez) or Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones), knows who is spying on Wednesday and joins in on the dark game. That wouldfit the tone of the seriesand be a lot of fun to watch.
Sincefans criticizedWednesdayseason 1 for not focusing enough on the Addams Family, it would be great if Wednesday opened up about the stalker to one of her relatives and asked for their help. While she’s typically a lone wolf who likes doing things on her own terms, she has grown a bit, and it would make sense if she felt in over her head, given the violence and danger of last season. Wednesday would be much stronger with her parents and brother by her side, and they could text the stalker and ask for a meet-up. It could also be funif Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers) decided to investigate the stalkerand didn’t tell Wednesday what she had planned. That could cause some tension between the friends and roommates. It would alsobe great to see these two characters in more scenes together.
Whether or not these two particular episodes featurethe slasher movie tropes that Jenna Ortega mentioned, they should be fast-paced, darkly funny, and informative. Of course, not every storyline will be wrapped up until the end ofWednesdayseason 2, and there could be another cliffhanger thatleads toWednesdayseason 3. However, Wednesday should make enough headway in her stalker investigation that fans are fully invested.
Wednesday Season 2’s Two-Part Release Schedule Could Mean Another Cliffhanger
SinceWednesdayseason 2 is being released in two parts, thatcould mean a cliffhanger at the end of part one. Perhaps there’s a hint at the stalker’s identity, or Wednesday makes a big breakthrough in the case, and that will carry fans through until the next episode.
Wednesday Season 2’s Release Schedule
While sometimes cliffhangers are frustrating and overused, they work well on a show likeWednesdaythat has an equally funny and bleak tone. A cliffhanger halfway throughWednesdayseason 2 would be fun, exciting, and memorable, especially if it involved Tyler Galpin. PerhapsTyler could show up halfway through the season, which wouldhelp this beloved character get his redemption arc.Whether Wednesday visits him at Willow Hill or he gets out and shows up at Nevermore, it’ll be great to see him again and find out what his plan is.
