The adventures inHonkai: Star Railrevolve around the Trailblazer and the Astral Express Crew. Their mission is to traverse the cosmos to learn more about different planets and their inhabitants, while also helping in sealing any Stellaron that’s plaguing the worlds. What’s particularly unique aboutHonkai: Star Rail’s Trailblazer is that they’re a walking Stellaron themselves.

At the beginning ofHonkai: Star Rail, Stellaron Hunters Kafka and Silver Wolf free a sleeping Trailblazer from their chamber within the Herta Space Station. This is also the part where players choose between controlling Stelle or Caelus in their gameplay. Everything about the Trailblazer’s past is still amystery thatHonkai: Star Railhas yet to explorefurther, but what is known is that they have a Stellaron embedded in their body, giving them an extraordinary power. This comes to their advantage throughout their missions, as they help the Astral Express Crew and other allies fight powerful enemies in every world they visit. With the Trailblazer making a name for themselves as an intergalactic hero, their hypothetical non-existence could spell trouble forHonkai: Star Rail’s world.

With No Trailblazer, Honkai: Star Rail’s Story Could Go on a Completely Different Path

As mentioned, the Trailblazer’s life before they were found in a sleeping chamber and how they ended up there in the first place is still unknown. There could definitely be a world inHonkai: Star Railwherein the Stellaron Hunters don’t find the Trailblazer when they infiltrate Herta Space Station, and Kafka and Silver Wolf escape to continue jumping from one planet to another to find Stellarons. This could also be said about the Astral Express Crew, as the members keep traveling to different worlds, helping people and fending off enemies with their combined powers. One possible caveat to the Trailblazer not existing is that there won’t be a character that would bridge the gap between theHonkai: Star Railfactions, because the Trailblazer is in a unique position where they have good relations with both of them.

Astral Express Crew

March 7th, Dan Heng (aka Imbibitor Lunae), Welt Yang, and Himeko

Stellaron Hunters

Kafka, Silver Wolf, Blade, and Sam (aka Firefly)

As for the Astral Express Crew’s missions during the events ofHonkai: Star Rail, it’s possible that the members are able to hold their own against various enemies in worlds like Jarilo-VI, Xianzhou Luofu, and Penacony. The faction consists of strong characters with unique talents, including Himeko, Welt Yang, March 7th, and Dan Heng, whose alternate version is the powerfulImbibitor Lunae, so they have a good chance of defeating boss enemies and sealing Stellarons. Plus, they’ll also meet formidable allies along the way who can help with their cause, like Seele, Jing Yuan, and Acheron, among many others.

At the same time, it could also be challenging for the Astral Express Crew and otherHonkai: Star Railcharacters involved without the Trailblazer helping them in battle. Apart from their Stellaron-powered abilities, the Trailblazer has been able to earn the gaze of four Aeons so far, and uses these god-given talents to take down bosses. If the protagonist didn’t exist, it might prove catastrophic forHonkai: Star Rail’s hardest battles, but it could also be a good opportunity for other characters to shine in place of the missing Trailblazer.

Honkai: Star Rail’s Trailblazer Could Still Exist in a Different Role

A running theory inHonkai: Star Railis that the Trailblazer was a Stellaron Hunter in a previous life, which would explain why they had a Stellaron in their body. This would also explain why Kafka is quite fond of the Trailblazer, often referencing how the latter will fulfill Elio’s script in the future.

Elio is the leader of the Stellaron Hunters, who is said to be able to foresee the future, using “scripts” to lead his faction’s actions during missions. Elio was previously leaked as apossible playableHonkai: Star Railcharacter.

If the Trailblazer wasn’tHonkai: Star Rail’s main protagonist, they could be a Stellaron Hunter in another life. The Astral Express Crew could still encounter them in missions, but their relationship might be rocky, especially considering how the Stellaron Hunters are deemed anti-heroes inHonkai: Star Rail. It would be interesting to see the Trailblazer as a wanted criminal, and one who would be at odds with the Astral Express Crew.
