Vampirism is a debilitating affliction inThe Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, forcing the Hero of Kvatch to stay out of sunlight in order not to get burned alive. For players who get afflicted with this disease randomly while fighting Vampire enemies, curing it quickly is of the utmost importance.
Of course, there areadvantages to becoming a Vampireas well, but it depends on what build a player is going for, and whether or not they are comfortable with all the downsides that come with it. One of the fastest and most convenient ways to remove Vampirism is Purgeblood Salts, an instant cure that can only be found in one location in the entire game. Here’s where to find it.
How to Get Purgeblood Salts in Oblivion Remastered
Purgeblood Salts can be obtained fromPurgeblood Crystal Formations. There are only three Purgeblood Crystal Formations in the game; all three can be found clustered together in a rock formation next to the Font of Renewal inDeepscorn Hollow, an underwater player home located southeast ofLeyawiinthat can beobtained through the Vile Lair DLC.
To enter Deepscorn Hollow, head to the location marked on the map above and dive underwater. There will be a wooden door hidden in a hollow tree trunk leading inward. Enter and swim through the underwater tunnel to reach the Deepscorn Hollow entrance. Read the book on the table to find out more about this place and where you can buy upgrades to renovate it back to its full glory. Fortunately, the Purgeblood Salts are found in a section that’s already functional and doesn’t need any upgrades to access: theFont of Renewal.
In the large empty chamber where you found the book, turn left to find the door leading to the Deepscorn Cloister. Enter it, and turn left again. A small corridor leads to a room with a large pool of water that has a white pillar in the middle—this is the Font of Renewal.
Look at the left corner of this chamber to find a large rock formation; all three Purgeblood Crystal Formations are within this formation. Interact with the formations to obtain Purgeblood Salts.
The Purgeblood Salts in Purgeblood Crystal Formations respawn after 3 days of in-game time.
How to Cure Vampirism Using Purgeblood Salts in Oblivion Remastered
The main purpose of Purgeblood Salts is tocure Vampirism inOblivion Remastered. To achieve this, a Vampire who has Purgeblood Salts in their inventory caninteract with the pillar in the Font of Renewal(same place as the Purgeblood Crystal Formations), and immediately be cured of Vampirism.
The Font of Renewal can only cure Vampirism; it serves no other purpose.
Alternatively, Purgeblood Salts can be used as Alchemy ingredients to create certain potions and poisons. They have the following effects:
