How to Start Karatom’s Quest in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

To start Karatom’s Quest, players must firstreach the Gestral Village. From the Gestral Village - Entrance Expedition Flag, you’ll have to take the first left through the Gestral Bazaar and come out the other side. You’ll arrive at a large area, and on your left, you’ll see a couple of Gestrals constructing the Ultimate Sakapatate.

Karatom is the tiny Gestral NPC standing at the base of the Sakapatate. Walk up to him and engage him in conversation. He’ll ask you to look for Blue Mushrooms. Unfortunately, you can’t get the item just yet.

Where to Find Blue Mushroom for Karatom in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

The Blue Mushroom Quest Item is located in another area inClair Obscur: Expedition 33called the Esquie’s Nest. However, the area is locked at this point in the story. To access the location, players must first complete the main quest in the Gestral Village. That means you’ll have to talk to the village chief, Golgra, and take part in the Gestral Arena tournament.

Players must face the three Legendary Warriors and the Stranger. After defeating the enemies, talk to Golgra, and he’ll tell you that the Eastern Gate from the village is open. Now, you’re free to access the Esquie’s Nest location.

Head out of the Gestral Village and follow the newly opened path that was previously gated off. Esquie’s Nest is located in the east. You’ll also find a Lost Gestral nearby that you can talk to near the entrance of the new location.

Once you enter Esquie’s Nest, head straight, and a cutscene will play out. There are a couple of paths here you can take with some items. To grab the Blue Mushroom, you’ll want to head through the main central path.

Soon, you’ll arrive at a large cavern with floating lanterns. Immediately turn right to find a Mime enemy in the lower area. Head down and go past the Mime to find the Blue Mushroom in the water. Once you’ve picked it up, you’re able to use the climbing points near the bridge and head back the way you came to make your way back to the Gestral Village and deliver the item to Karatom. But the quest isn’t over just yet.

How to Beat the Ultimate Sakapatate in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

Handing the item over to Karatom in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 completes one part of the quest. For the second part, you’ll have to take on the Ultimate Sakapatate that you helped build. To make matters worse, this is a one-on-one duel between the Ultimate Sakapatate and Gustave. It also hits like a truck and has a variety of moves, so you’ll want totime your parries perfectlyto take it down.

The fight has three distinct phases where the enemy adds new moves to its arsenal. The first phase only has two attacks that players need to worry about:

A three-hit combo where the Sakapatate swings its right-hand weapon twice and ends with a slash. Parry or dodge the first two hits and jump the final slash. you may also counter immediately after the jump attack for some free damage.

Once you manage to get the boss’s health down to about 75% HP, it will enter the second phase. You’ll see a message flash across your screen “Ultimate Sakapatate takes the fight seriously and raises its shield”. It will gain two more attacks at this point of the fight.

“Ultimate Sakapatate slams its shield”

The boss will first do a spinning jump. It will then slam its shield down on the player. It can be parried and dodged easily.

Fires three projectiles from the shield’s canon. You’ll need to parry all three to trigger a counter. Getting hit applies Burn.

With less than half of its health remaining, the Ultimate Sakapatate will enter the final phase of the fight. The text message will read, “Ultimate Sakapatate unleashes its full power” and will gain an extra move:

“Ultimate Sakapatate launches some wierd electric things”

The Ultimate Sakapatate will launch some electrical projectiles that can deal a lot of damage. The timing isn’t too hard to parry, but dodging is also an option if you’re not feeling entirely confident.

Since this is a one-on-one duel, you’ll want toequip Pictos that healsyou. Alternatively, Gustave has a few healing skills that might be worth using. The boss is resistant to electrical damage, which can drag out the fight. However, Overcharge is still your best friend in this fight, allowing you to break the enemy once the bar fills up.

Once Broken, you have a chance to aim at the left shoulder of the Sakapatate to hit its weak point. After landing a few hits, the boss will lose its shield, and the rest of the fight will become much easier.

The boss will recover quickly, so make sure you quickly take out the weakpoint using free aim.
