Summary

World of Warcraftis making Timewalking dungeons more difficult in Patch 11.1.7 by giving enemies more health and better damage scaling by gear score, but it is increasing gear and Timewarped Badge rewards in the process. These adjustments are available for testing on the Patch 11.1.7 Public Test Realm now, but they will be officially implemented as a part of the nextWorld of Warcraftupdate.

Timewalking is a periodic event where players can queue into dungeons, and occasionally raids, fromoldWorld of Warcraftexpansions, but scaled to their current level. Completing these dungeons and turning in their associated quests rewards Timewarped Badges, which can be exchanged for expansion-specific cosmetics and reputation during each week-long period, or saved for future events.

However,World of Warcraftis working on some adjustments to Timewalking dungeons in Patch 11.1.7 that fans should be aware of before queueing up. According to the patch notes for a recent build of the Patch 11.1.7 PTR,World of Warcraftis increasing the health of all Timewalking dungeon enemies, with an even more significant buff coming to bosses. What’s more, damage scaling based on item level will be more consistent; lower-geared characters will take less damage, while well-geared characters will take more. To compensate for this difficulty increase, Timewalking dungeons will also now drop Adventurer gear, instead of Explorer, and now reward 25 Timewarped Badges at the end, instead of only 10.

While this may seem like anegative change to Timewalking inWorld of Warcraftat first glance, these adjustments will likely improve the feature as a whole. Right now, level 10 characters can easily defeat nearly every enemy in Timewalking dungeons, while level scaling above 60 or 70 can be incredibly punishing if players don’t keep their gear up to date with their current level. These changes should help provide a more consistent experience when entering Timewalking dungeons.

These adjustments are coming toWorld of Warcraftat a great time. The Turbulent Timeways event returns in Patch 11.1.7, bringing with it not only six weeks of back-to-back Timewalking but the arrival ofBattle for AzerothTimewalking inWorld of Warcraftas well.

At the moment,World of WarcraftPatch 11.1.7 does not have an official release date. However, the in-game calendar on the PTR lists June 17 as the start of the Turbulent Timeways, suggesting the update – and these Timewalking changes – could arrive on or around that date. Fans can almost certainly expect Blizzard to confirm the update’s release schedule within the next few weeks.
