Lorewalking is anew leveling experience coming inWorld of WarcraftPatch 11.1.7where fans play through curated storytelling experiences that delve into the lore of important characters, cultures, and events. Three questlines will be available with the launch of the feature in Patch 11.1.7: Xal’atath, the Ethereals, and the Lich King.

However, players have found evidence that a fourth Lorewalking storyline is forthcoming. Whileexploring theWorld of WarcraftPatch 11.1.7 Public Test Realmand datamining its files,WoWcontent creatorMrGMdiscovered over two and a half minutes of dialogue from Lorewalker Cho, the Pandaren narrator of the new feature voiced by Jim Cummings. The lines discuss much of the history of the Blood Elves, starting with their exile from Kalimdor and moving through the founding of Quel’thalas, the invasion of the Scourge, Kael’thas’ bargain with Kil’jaeden, and the restoration of the Sunwell.

Unreleased Elf Lorewalking Story in WoW Patch 11.1.7

Previously,Wowhead had discovered the text of Cho’s narration, along with a UI image featuring Lor’themar Theron and Magister Umbric, prominent leaders of the Blood and Void Elves respectively, but the presence of this recorded dialogue implies the development of this storyline is well under way. Likewise, the fact that Umbric can be seen in the datamined image suggests the questline will continue on from where Cho’s story ended, delving into the origin of the Void Elves.

While there is no confirmation as to when this storyline will be released, fans can likely expect it later this year, in one of the patches ahead ofMidnight. The expansion brings players back to a revamped Quel’thalas, making the months beforehand the perfect time to remind fans of the region’s major historical story beats. What’s more,World of Warcraftmay be able to use uprezzed assets from the zone revampswhen creating new quests for the storyline.

World of WarcraftPatch 11.1.7 adds tons of contentto the game besides Lorewalking as well, including a story campaign in the Arathi Highlands,Battle for AzerothTimewalking, and a new way for every class to self-heal. The patch doesn’t have a launch date yet, but estimations based on the PTR calendar suggest June 17 or 24 are the most likely candidates for release.
