There are 15 powerful Daedric Artifacts inOblivion Remastered, and players can obtain them all. However, out of the arsenal of Daedric Artifacts, some are pretty pathetic. While it’s always great to grab all the collectibles and experience every quest, especially those of the Daedric Prince variety, there are some artifacts that can be considered sellable junk that shouldn’t be in your inventory.
The most useless Daedric Artifacts inOblivion Remasteredprovide players with worthless effects and benefits, along with a sacrifice that they may be unwilling to make, whether that’s their time or anitem that they do not with to relinquish. As such, it’s a good idea to check out the Daedric Artifacts ofOblivion Remasteredthat might not be worth using.
8Oghma Infinium
A Burden to Obtain Just For Some Stat Boosts
A real oddity among the Daedric Artifacts is the Oghma Infinium, a Daedric Artifact from Hermaeus Mora’s Daedric quest, which can only be acquired after players discover all other Daedric Artifacts and acquire souls from each of the ten races found within Cyrodiil. The quest itself is a huge undertaking, which is part of the reason the Oghma Infinium can be pretty useless. However, actually having the book itself provides players with one, and only one opportunity to increase two Attributes by 10 points and 3 Skills by 10 points. That’s great, but it’s only once, and some players might just find it more effective to use Skill exploits.
7Mace of Molag Bal
A Sharp and Pointy Weapon with Mediocre Enchantments
The dreaded and feared Molag Bal provides players who complete his Daedric quest with the Mace of Molag Bal, a one-handed blunt weapon that is capable of absorbing strength from foes and their magicka with each swing. Pretty decent enchantments,a sharp design, and a fun quest involving turning a pacifist into a murderer – the Mace of Molag Bal isn’t bad, but it’s not incredible. This is a weapon that will only benefit those who like to invest in blunt weapons, but even then, it’s not going to be their main weapon when they realize the potential in other blunt weapons.
6Volendrung
A Weapon That’s Way Too Heavy to Carry Around
It’s not a surprise that the heaviest and most beastly of weapons belongs to Malacath, a Daedric Prince who tasks players with freeing his ogres. Volendrung is a brutish weapon, a two-handed blunt weapon that might drain health for 5 points with each swing, and even paralyze opponents, but it is so heavy for a weapon that it really becomes a burden to hold and swing. With a carry weight of 60 points, players are going to have a hard timejustifying lugging this giant hammer around, especially when the damage it provides isn’t that great.
5Ring of Khajiiti
A Ring to Be Somewhat Invisible
Jewelry is always great to wear, not just for the style, but for the enchantments that players can use to increase their power and resistances. However, Meridia’s Daedric quest provides the Ring of Khajiiti, a ring that might be useful early on thanks to its small 10% increase in speed and its 35% Chameleon bonus, but it can get pretty annoying to be somewhat translucent, especially when 25% Chameleon doesn’t do all that much to stay hidden from enemies, thus making this ring a tad useless when players can just enchant their own rings to be better.
4Saviour’s Hide
A Piece of Armor That Looks Cool But Lacks Usefulness
Hircine’s Daedric quest requires players to kill a Unicorn to be gifted with Saviour’s Hide, a light armor cuirass to increase magic resistance by 25%. While it’s nice to murder a Unicorn simply because it’s annoying and constantly hostile anytime anyone even thinks about holding a weapon, the Saviour’s Hide reward isn’t going to beworn by most playerssimply because they will find more fitting armor elsewhere. Players can have armor with better stats and their own enchantments, whereas with Saviour’s Hide, they will be stuck with just 25% Resist Magic.
3Sanguine Rose
Summon a Daedra That Will Not Hesitate to Fight the Summoner
Crashing a dinner party might not be to everyone’s taste, but Sanguine is a Daedric Prince who relishes in the chaos of a party gone wrong. Those who embark on a journey for Sanguine Rose might find themselves betrayed, simply because their actions will cause them to get a bounty in Leyawiin. Quest aside, the Sanguine Rose is a staff that will summon a random Daedra enemy once fired at an enemy, except there’s a catch. Sure, a Daedra assistant that helps for 20 seconds before disappearing is nice foran extra hand in battle, but that same Daedra will have no reservations about betraying the summoner, meaning players will have to fight it until the Daedra dies or despawns.
2Wabbajack
A Comedic Staff to Turn Creatures Into Oddities, But That’s About It
An amazing quest that shows the hilarity of Sheogorath, the Wabbajack is obtained from Sheogorath’s Daedric quest once players convince a humble and boring settlement that the apocalypse is upon them by making itrain literal flaming dogs. While hilarious, the Wabbajack is pretty useless. The Wabbajack will transform creatures into unpredictable and random creatures, which can make for a funny occurrence, but doesn’t really do anything to help players in battle, except maybe provide a giggle as a chicken becomes a Troll.
1Masque of Clavicus Vile
A Mask That Buffs Personality At the Cost of the Game’s Best Weapon
Completing Clavicus Vile’s Daedric quest will reward players with his Masque, which really isn’t worth it. While there’s nothing wrong with the item itself, since an extra 20 points in Personality will help with persuasion and the disposition wheel minigame, the Masque of Clavicus Vile simply asks too much from players, which is what makes it worthless. If players want the Masque of Clavicus Vile, they are going to have to give up Umbra, a sword which will carry playersto their final daysinOblivion Remastered, so why give it up for a mask that can be replaced simply by investing in Speechcraft and Personality?
