Summary
WithWind Breaker’s second season having premiered recently, the show has continued giving fansits daily dose of actionwith its brutal fighting scenes. With these scenes ever present, characters either leave a lasting impression on viewers or end up with a vicious knockdown.
Every fighter contributes with their unique capabilities, such as raw power and skilled tactics, yet few possess the necessary skills to reach the elite top. Having heart is not enough to secure victory in Furin or Shishitoren even if these fighters possess great determination. They might not be completely helpless in a fight, but they remain at the bottom tier of fighters in the world ofWind Breaker.
8Yukinari Arima
Sugishita’s Simplest Work
Within Shishitoren’s usual group is Yukinari Arima, with his half-shaved head and gruff demeanor. Known for his usual tough persona, he does have a gentle side. Said to be able to break the ribs of his opponents with his brute strength, he certainly falls short in his match with Sugishita.
His lack of skills was prominent in his fight with Sugishita. Evenwith his ploy to distract him, it still had little effect, as he ended up getting knocked out with just one move. The fight was over in seconds, exposing him as a character with just a few skills and a front.
7Minoru Kanuma
All Bark And No Bite
With an arrogant and smug personality, there is no one other than Minoru Kanuma who embodies Shishitoren so very well. Kanuma is physically fit and fights more thanthe average delinquent, but his skills still have no notable flair to them. He tries to maintain a cool front but is shaky during actual fights.
His one-on-one match with Suo showed just how bad of a fighter he was. Despite how smug he was before the match, Kanuma was easily dominated by Suo without much effort. He lacked defense skills and any real technique, couldn’t even land a single punch, and was left stumbling like a child throughout the match.
6Tsukasa Takanashi
The Protector Who Can’t Protect Himself
One of the first years willing to back up Anzai without a second thought is Takanashi. He remains an individual who would willingly assist his classmates, just like he did when he took a blow for Kurita during the fight with KEEL.
Despite his loyalty, Takanashi remains at the bottom tier of fighters in theWind Breakeranime. His act of stepping up for others does not compensate for how quickly he gets overpowered. He can hold himself in a fight, but guts alone are not enough; he’s still not onthe same level as Sakuraand the like.
5Masaki Anzai
Courage Without Capability
In terms of friendliness, Anzai ranks high among the first-year Bofurin students. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for his fighting capabilities. Despite being a member of Bofurin, his skills remain poor. As seen during the time KEEL attacks him to taunt him, he is found beaten up, unable to defend himself.
And when the fight with KEEL starts to rescue Nagato, Anzai’s fight with the leader proves to be trivial, as one blow from him knocks him unconscious for the whole fight. Anzai’s zeal remains ever-present, but he lacks the strength to take on individuals thattop Bofurin members can handle.
4Yuri Kakiuchi
No Standout Moments
One of Bofurin’s trio is made up of Kakiuchi, often seen alongside Takanashi and Kurita. The three, usually together, all lack strength, even as a group. Kakiuchi remains a dependable individual, often having his team’s back during fights, but this has also revealed Kakiuchi’s struggle in keeping up.
Hisfight during the KEEL arcshowed fans exactly how subpar his combat skills are. Without the support of his friends, his efforts are hardly even noticed. His efforts to fight harder were unsuccessful as KEEL’s aggressive force continued to outmatch him. The fight’s turning tide had him overwhelmed, not having the chance to defend himself. Although Kakiuchi ’s attitude stands out, his combat skills remain inferior to other team members.
3Junpei Kurita
Presence Of Loyalty Without Strength
This member of Bofurin is recognized for having a calm demeanor while being a loyal member of the team; he is often seen at the sidelines during key moments, standing by his teammates. Despite his presence at times like this, he’s not regarded as one of the strongest.
Kurita falls short because of his lack of power, speed, and fighting intensity. His being on the sidelines makes him have minimal impact in battles and makes it harder to see any standout abilities he could have. One can’t deny his solid presence with his team, but he continues to be seen as an underwhelming character in a class filled with dominant figures.
2Akihiko Nirei
The One With A Sharp Mind But Soft Punches
This rather clumsy first year at Furin High is known to be apart of Bofurin’s Vaisravana Unit. Appointed as one of Sakura’s right-hand men, a clear gap is shown between the two in terms of strength due to Nirei’s inability to fight.
Nirei’s sad past of being bullied is what motivated him to join Furin High, but in the face of danger, he is still unable to do much. Regardless of his inability to fight, Nirei makes an effort to train with Suo to learn techniques to defend himself. Not capable of fighting, he’s still a tough nut looking to remain at Furin and fulfill his hopes of becoming a hero to protect the town.
1Atsushi Nagato
Trapped In The Wrong Crew
One of Anzai’s childhood friends is Atsushi Nagato, whom he knew long before their paths took different directions, and he decided to join KEEL,Wind Breaker’smost dangerous criminal organization. Despite being in such a ruthless organization, Nagato was regularly seen as a punching bag by other gang members rather than a teammate, clearly showing his ranking in the group.
Throughout the time Anzai tried to rescue him, Nagato didn’t have the resolve to leave, having chosen to stay in a group that beat him to a pulp rather than leaving. His presence in KEEL makes it clear, Nagato is one of the weakest fighters to wear the KEEL name.
