Summary
Xboxrecently delisted 27 games from European markets, including some fairly well-known titles such asKena: Bridge of SpiritsandSuper Meat Boy Forever. The sudden delisting of these games was not announced, so it’s possible that a bug caused these titles to vanish fromXboxstorefronts in Europe.
Games often get delisted from online stores for numerous reasons, including licenses expiring or problems with publishers. Earlier this year, for example, six games were delisted from the Xbox Store:Daggerhood,Gravity Duck,Infestor,League of Evil,Outer Terror, andRoyal Frontier. In this case, however, these games were confirmed to be leaving months before they were pulled from the digital stores.
Now, as spotted byTrueAchievements, 27 games have vanished from the European version of the Xbox Store. The list includes some fairly well-known titles, likeGrim Dawn: Definitive Edition,Gylt,Hyper Light Drifter,Kena: Bridge of Spirits,Ooblets,Steve Jackson’s Sorcery,Super Meat Boy Forever, and more. No Gravity Games was the company most affected by this change, as it published 12 of the 27 delisted titles.
27 Games Delisted From Xbox in Europe
What’s odd about this is that nobody announced that this would take place, and the games can still be purchased in other regions, which could indicate that this happened due to a glitch. It’s quite unusual for a game likeKena: Bridge of Spirits, considered by some as one of thebest action-adventure games on the Xbox, to simply vanish without its publisher acknowledging it. If this was caused by a bug, it’s likely that most, if not all, of these 27 games will return to the store within the next few days.
When major titles are delisted, fans often get some time to purchase them before they’re gone. A good example of this was whenForza Horizon 4was delisted last year. The game was announced to be leaving Xbox months before being delisted, and fans had several promotions and opportunities to acquire it.
Glitches on online platforms are not entirely unusual, either, and can happen for multiple reasons. Earlier this year, for example, theXbox app recommended a delisted game to users. At the time, the platform recommendedForza Horizon 3to some players, who immediately noticed the error, noting that the game had not been sold since 2020 and joking about the incident online. Hopefully, the delisted titles will be back on sale soon, and European players will get another shot at playing these games.
