Zenless Zone Zeroreleases the big Version 1.7 update, adding tons of new content, fixes, and even surprisingly replacing 3 more English voice actors. After teasing Update 1.7 over the past few weeks and months through livestreams, social media posts, and trailers, HoYoverse has finally launched the anticipated version, which also represents the final piece ofZenless Zone Zero’s first season.
There has been plenty of excitement overZenless Zone Zerofrom fans over the game’s future. While teasing Version 1.7, HoYoverse also revealedSeason 2 ofZenless Zone Zero, promising to add a major new area of the game, while also finally providing answers to many of the game’s many mysteries. In addition, the footage revealed a handful of new agents, including an important and powerful character named Yi Xuan. Until then,Zenless Zone Zerohas finally launched its anticipated Version 1.7 update.
For many players, the biggest piece of this update will be the new S-Rank Agents.Zenless Zone Zeropreviously revealed Vivan and Hugothrough an in-game story and events, as well as a recent livestream, though this will be the first time both will be available to pull for. Vivian is an Ether Anomaly agent and will be available during Phase 1 of Version 1.7 along with the Re-run banner for Jane. Phase 2 will see Hugo Vlad, an Ice Attacker, replace Vivian’s banner, while Lighter replaces Jane on the Re-run banner.
In addition to the new agents, events, and an epilogue to the Season 1 story, Update 1.7 is making a number of adjustments to the core game. Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault have been refreshed with new buffs and enemy rotations, and a number of agent bugs have been fixed, including tweaks to Aftershock attacks. As part of these bug fixes, HoYoverse is gifting 600 total Polychrome,Zenless Zone Zero’s highly sought after in-game currency, to players as compensation for the issues and server downtime.
Unfortunately for many fans, Version 1.7 also replaces three more voice actors, specifically Crystal Lee, Katie Cofield, and Chelsea Kwoka, the English voice actors for Rina, Koleda, and Grace. The patch notes don’t go into detail or reveal the new voice actors, but fans are already linking the change to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. In fact,Zenless Zone Zerohas already replaced voice actorsrecently, with Emeri Chase and Nicholas Thurkettle being removed from their duties voicing Soldier 11 and Lycaon.
1. New Characters
S-Rank Agent Vivian (Anomaly - Ether)
Vivian is a versatile Agent in Anomaly squads. She deals additional Anomaly DMG to targets suffering from Attribute Anomaly and can launch attacks while off-field to rapidly accumulate Anomaly Buildup. Vivian gains Flight Feather through certain skills. After converting Flight Feather into Guard Feather, under specific conditions, Vivian can consume 1 Guard Feather to launch one instance of Basic Attack: Featherbloom on the target, which can also be triggered while she is off-field.
S-Rank Agent Hugo (Attack - Ice)
Hugo is an Agent with a unique mechanic called Totalize. When a target enemy is Stunned, using certain skills will trigger the Totalize effect, ending the target’s Stunned state and dealing massive DMG based on the remaining Stunned duration while accumulating Daze. He can also chain ranged shots after certain skills.
※ After the Version 1.7 update, A-Rank Agent Pulchra (Stun - Physical) will be available in the “Star-Studded Cast” Stable Channel and can also be obtained through Signal Search in Exclusive Channels and W-Engine Channels.
